For Peace

We believe creativity can play a vital role in building a more sustainable future.

Through the Salford Creatives platform, we pledge to:

  • Share resources, champion reuse and reduce waste.
  • Support local artists, freelancers and suppliers.
  • Promote sustainable travel.
  • Embed sustainability into commissions, programmes and opportunities.
  • Share environmental knowledge, toolkits and best practice.
  • Develop green skills through artist development and learning programmes.
  • Continuously learn, measure and improve.

In order to put these pledges into action, we will:

  • Maintain a resource-sharing platform for Salford's creative sector.
  • Provide practical sustainability resources, templates and case studies.
  • Embed environmental considerations into commissioning and project planning.
  • Deliver online and in-person workshops to support sustainable creative practice.
  • Promote local collaboration and low-carbon ways of working.
  • Collect feedback and share learning to continually improve our approach.
