Zola Steelpan

I am a professional steelpan soloist and musician, creating vibrant live performances that blend Caribbean sound with modern music. Rooted in the Caribbean tradition of steelpan, I focus on presenting the instrument in both traditional and modern contexts, showcasing its versatility through instrumental covers, improvisation, and genre-blending performance.

I primarily perform as a solo artist, delivering live sets at weddings, festivals, corporate events and community spaces. Using backing tracks alongside live steelpan, I reinterpret music across genres including pop, reggae, afrobeat and contemporary chart music. My performances are designed to be adaptable and accessible, creating a warm, engaging atmosphere while bringing a distinctive and memorable sound to each setting.

A key theme within my work is cultural representation and visibility. I aim to highlight the steelpan as a dynamic and expressive instrument that goes beyond stereotypical associations, positioning it within modern music culture while remaining connected to its Caribbean roots.

Alongside performance, I also deliver educational workshops in schools and community settings, sharing the history and cultural significance of steelpan while encouraging participation and creativity.

My audience is broad, ranging from private clients and event audiences to young people in educational contexts, with a focus on creating inclusive, engaging and memorable musical experiences.
